Growing in Confidence

In Their Own Words 💛

The Manns Horne Youth Foundation helped 45 girls participate in Girls on the Run by covering program fees their families couldn’t otherwise afford.

“Be kind.” “Keep trying.” “Never give up.”

Written in the girls’ own handwriting, these commitments show what they’re learning at practice: how to encourage themselves and each other. Through running and lessons on positive self-talk, friendship, and gratitude, they’re building confidence they can use every day.

We supported 15 girls at Chimborazo, Woodville, and Westover Hills elementary schools in Richmond and 30 more at Albert W. Patrick III Elementary in Hampton and John Adams Elementary in Northern Virginia.

That’s 45 girls with the opportunity to show up, make friends, and discover what they’re capable of.

Your donation can help more children take part in programs like these. Give at mhyouth.org. 💛

Making Camp Available for More Students

This summer, the Manns Horne Youth Foundation is helping nearly 150 students attend nine summer camps — 35 more than last year. We're also proud to be expanding our network of community partners.

By paying program fees directly to camps and providers, we make sure every child can participate without their family facing a financial barrier.

These programs matter more than ever because summer engagement allows children to:

 - discover new interests

- become more confident

- stay active

- build friendships

Requests for assistance continue to come in even as summer is well underway, and your generosity helps us respond when families need us most.

Every gift strengthens our ability to support children now and prepares us to meet the growing demand for after-school and enrichment programs in the year ahead.

Thank you for investing in our children, believing in their potential, and helping write their story.
