Charlene is a mission-driven professional with a career rooted in service, community impact, and youth support. She began her work in the nonprofit sector as the Assistant Director of Fundraising for the National Legal Aid & Defender Association, where she helped secure resources to ensure individuals without financial means received access to legal representation. She later served as Human Resources Director for Horne Engineering, leading employee support, organizational development, and workplace programs.
Charlene returned to the workforce part-time at a public middle school, following several years dedicated to family and community volunteering. In this role, she continues to work with students—including underserved youth—supporting their academic growth and personal well-being. Charlene also founded the school’s pantry program, providing essential resources (food and clothing) to underserved families.
She is a graduate of Old Dominion University in Norfolk. Va.
